Built on the very place where Davy Crockett and his band of brave Texas settlers defended the Alamo in 1836, San Antonio’s Crockett Hotel is a charming, historic hotel recently renovated to include all of today’s amenities. A member of the National Register of Historic Places, the Crockett Hotel is well-suited for travelers interested in the rich culture and history of Texas. Just 18 steps from the Alamo and across the street from RiverCenter Mall, gateway to San Antonio’s River Walk, guests of the Crockett Hotel enjoy the quiet of the surrounding neighborhood, marked only by the sounds of horse-drawn carriages.
The Crockett Hotel’s 138 non-smoking guestrooms are decorated in tones of sage and cream, featuring plantation-style shutters and local artwork to give guests a sense of the local culture. Although decorations are minimal, the aim is to create the sense of comfort and elegance typical of a hotel built a century ago. 2007 renovations to the boutique hotel included the restructuring of guestrooms designed for the 1968 World’s Fair to enhance the hotel’s large outdoor pool, plus the hotel’s gorgeous seventh meeting rooms have been restored in the style of a luxurious private penthouse.
